Round 3

06 May 2024 - 19 May 2024

It's time for the Round Three Roundup, brought to you today by Zubway, everyone's favourite undead sandwich franchise. Treat yourself to a footlong, or keep it light with just the toes. Zubway: Eat Flesh

The Bright Jugglers remain at the top of the Rookie division following an extremely dirty match against Kry Havoc. The pouring rain offered plenty of mud for the Mud God, but the followers of Khorne will have been very disappointed with the result.

The Grave Rubbers' attempt to keep pace with the Jugglers ran headlong into the zombie horde of Grave Danger. The Rubbers seemed confused by the lack of, well, any position except the zombies, while Danger got full value from spending their petty cash on stars as Wilhelm Chaney ran in the winning touchdown.

The White Mice and the Jorvik Vikings both power up the table with 3-1 victories over the Badlands Da'Baytin Sossayetty and the Dark Delvers respectively. Down at the bottom of the table, the Immortulz Ol Boyz and Chainsaw Buffet picked up a point apiece from their clash, while I BalabiĆ²tt remain firmly last after a loss to the Stink 11s.

Next round, the Sokol Slaughterers return to the fray while Kry Havoc take time off for certain religious obligations. The Bright Jugglers have a battle against the Jorvik Vikings for the top spot, the White Mice see whether they can slip past the Zharr-Naggrund Prophets, and Chainsaw Buffet face I BalabiĆ²tt at the bottom.

In the Veteran division, Round 3 kicked off with the Badlandz Bruisaz taking on the ladies of the Pink Panthers. Both sides were underpowered following brutal matches in the previous round, stepping up with temporary players pulling on the shirts to prove their mettle. Both sides fought hard and lost another player to injury, but the Panthers prevailed score-wise to enjoy the view from the top of the table, at least briefly.

The Talabecland Thunder played host to Huanchi's Jungle Rumble, with the lizards still looking for their first points after a slow start to the season. The Thunder were already suffering from their previous match, and the Rumble Kroxigor very quickly made that worse, clearing the Thunder's ogre off the pitch with a niggling injury and giving a bodyguard a dodgy hip that will surely affect how nimble he can be in future. With a saurus taking another bodyguard out in the second half there was little fight left in the Thunder, and the Rumble sauntered to a 2-1 victory that gets them off the bottom at last.

Finally, Waldhof Middenheim went to see the Buffalo Biles on what proved to be a very sunny day. The Biles came out hard, sending their killer Pestigor up against Middenheim's ogre with devastating results. The apothecary tried his best, but if anything the ogre was even more dead after his ministrations. Such an early blow quite demoralised the rest of the Middenheim team, with even Colenbrander unable to muster his usual razzle-dazzle. The Biles' win puts them back on top with only the Panthers in catching distance, and still yet to concede a single touchdown or injury.

Next round sees the Panthers keeping up the chase with a game against what remains of the Thunder, while the Biles and the Bruisaz get mired in a bash-fest and Middenheim attempts to rally against a newly fired-up Rumble.

Round 4 runs until 2nd June. It's getting serious out there, so it's time for the coaches to bring their A-game and fire up their players with the Z-taste. Freshly killed or full of rotten flavour, have it your way at Zubway!
