Round 4

04 Aug 2025 - 17 Aug 2025

The first of the titles have been claimed, but every division still has more to play for. Let's check out the recent action in the Round Four Roundup!

Division 1 opened with the extremely battered Saratcens hoping that the Cordelian Dolphins would prove a little less aggressive. Such hopes were immediately dashed, with the high elves proving more than willing to get their hands dirty removing rats from the pitch. Despite that, the skaven held firm in the first half and kept the score even at 1-1. Their dwindling numbers caught up to them in the second half, however, allowing the elves to steal the ball twice and end the game 3-1.

The Felwithen Furies then hosted the Blitzen Bozos in a clash for the top spot. Both teams proved extremely adept in defence, not just preventing their opponent from scoring but stealing the ball to score in their own right. The Furies had the edge, however, pulling off the manoeuvre not just once but twice, while their mithril armour proved surprisingly resilient against the dwarves' blocks.

The Nevermore Ravens were supposed to visit Romero's Regenerates for a midnight clash, but sadly the Regenerates have had to withdraw from the season due to other commitments. The call of the graveyard has proved too strong, and the Ravens were given the win by default.

The title and the trophy are thus awarded to the Felwithen Furies with a game to spare, their win leaving them unassailable at the top of the table. The rest of the spots are still up for grabs, with these final games proving crucial. The Saratcens hope to escape relegation with a tough match against the Furies, while the Ravens take on the Dolphins in the middle of the table and the Bozos are guaranteed safety thanks to the Regenerates' withdrawal.

Strange occurrences in Division 2 as no game appeared to make it to the pitch. Some kind of temporal anomaly swept up all six teams, rendering them entirely unreachable until the end of the round when they reappeared, wild-eyed but apparently unscathed, and reporting results that no one could verify. According to the players, the BlÄhaj Blasts beat the Talabecland Thunder, the Gnawthorn Vermin beat the Tinseltown Terrors and the Forked Tongues beat the Sokol Serpents.

The Forked Tongues now hold the top spot as a result, but only one point ahead of the Blasts, making the last round matches crucial to deciding the winner. The Tongues will take on the Vermin, while the Blasts face the third-place Serpents and the Terrors meet the Thunder.

Division 3 started with a clash between Norsey But Nice and the horrors of the Midnight Massives. Despite an early casualty from a flesh golem, it was the vikings who had the edge on aggression. The Massives managed to walk some of it off, but one werewolf is unlikely to return from a trip to the vet midway through the first half. The aggressive approach applied to scoring as well, with valkyries running in three touchdowns to the Massives' one.

The sun continues to smile a little too brightly on the Knickerbocker Glory Slobberknockers, who this time met the larger greenskinz of Orc City. The snots brought Fungus the Loon with them for a little extra blocking power, only to see him almost immediately fall to a daring assault from the City troll. Their woes continued as nothing they threw at the orcs managed to break their armour, and the ref proved entirely unable to be swayed by the usual application of a sack of cash and sent a number of players off for fielding unsuitable weaponry. The orcs squished a few snots, but mostly seemed to ignore them in favour of scoring twice and claiming their first win of the season.

Then it was orc vs orc as Da Bushwakkaz, still rounding out their numbers with temporary players, took on the Burning Sensations. A surprisingly sedate game saw only a single casualty to a Bushwakkaz lineman, who will nevertheless live to play again, and a touchdown apiece for a friendly draw.

And another cancellation in a round apparently plagued with them. Despite their best efforts, the Anfield Anarchists and the Green-Orange Golds were unable to play their match as scheduling commitments interfered. The nobles kept getting called away to court, the commoners kept getting drunk waiting for the nobles to get back, and in the end there was nothing to be done but record it as a draw and move on.

An unbeaten run means the title belongs to Norsey But Nice with one game still left to play. The Anarchists are unassailable in second, but the rest of the table is still open to anyone except the snotlings. The last round sees Norsey But Nice hosting Orc City, the Anarchists relaxing against the Slobberknockers, the Midnight Massives take on Da Bushwakkaz and the Green-Orange Golds face the Burning Sensations.

Division 4 takes the prize for the only complete set of fixtures this round. The action opened with the Cold Blooded Cannoneers taking on the Aloha Rippers, initially in the pouring rain. The wet ball didn't hinder the wood elves, whose natural agility carried them into the lead, but the skies cleared and the lizards' fists dried off as they settled into the game, taking out a couple of linemen and shoving a wardancer into the crowd where he was duly mobbed. An equaliser before halftime and a second in the second half gave the Cannoneers the win.

Next the rather underpowered Naggarond Blitzers took on the Gornagechu Suckers. The dark elves will be glad to have finally made it through a game without suffering any permanent injuries, but despite taking the lead in the first half the vampires turned things around with an equaliser midway through the second half, followed by a kind throw from the crowd that let them steal the win.

The other dark elves of the division, the Moriquendi Krakens, were up against the goblins of Chainsaw Buffet, and their additional star power in the shape of Bomber Dribblesnot and H'thark the Unstoppable. A lot of extremely dirty play from the gobbos saw them take the lead, but despite losing a couple of players to H'thark's caresses the Krakens managed to keep things moving and win the game 2-1.

Last up, Block, Glock 'n' Roll played host to the Scunbag Gitz. Sadly for the home fans, they got to watch their team entirely fall apart as the black orcs laid into them, putting the boot in at every opportunity and scoring twice before half time. They eased off the ball in the second half, but only in order to truly concentrate on the violence. The renegades have very little to show for their appearance save a fine array of bruises, and the mild satisfaction of having shown the Gitz exactly what it feels like to have a goblin launched at your team.

The title is now a two-horse race between the Krakens and the Cannoneers, with the elves currently holding the top but needing a win in the last game to be certain of victory. They play the Naggarond Blitzers in an elf-off, while the Cannoneers hope their cold blood will be less enticing to the Gornagechu Suckers. In the middle of the table, the Scunbag Gitz take on the Aloha Rippers, and there's a scrap at the bottom for Chainsaw Buffet and Block, Glock 'n' Roll.

So there's still plenty of excitement to look forward to in these final games. Round Five runs until 31st August, with the last of the trophies still waiting to be claimed!
